Your first visit is the most important one you will have. During this visit, the doctor will try to understand your condition and determine the right course of action to help you begin your recovery. Because of the nature of the visit described below, you should plan on booking approximately one hour of your time for this appointment.

INITIAL PAPERWORK

Upon entering the office, there will be some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides the doctor with general information about yourself, your health history and your reason for visiting the clinic. This paperwork may take between 5-10 minutes, however once this information is on file you will not need to repeat the process and will only need to update the information upon any changes. If you wishto save time, these forms are available in PDF format to download, print, and fill out prior to your visit.

HISTORY AND EXAMINATION

In order to help determine what the proper diagnosis should be, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which structures and/or tissues are affected and to what extent. Depending on the nature of the complaint, this step may take as little as 15-20 minutes for uncomplicated conditions to upwards of 30 minutes for those with more complexity .

X-RAY STUDIES

Not all visits to the chiropractor warrant x-ray studies. However, your specific symptoms/presentation may require radiographic studies to rule out more serious conditions and assist in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. If this is the case, an appointment will be made for the earliest convenient time for you to obtain your x-rays.

SCHEDULE YOUR FOLLOW-UP APPOINTMENT

When the doctor has completed your examination, the results of the tests (and x-rays if warranted) will be compiled. The doctor will then study these results and prepare a full report of findings, which may be given at your next visit. At your Report of Findings, you will have explained to you the examination results which lead to the diagnosis. The doctor will take the time to explain the findings and give you his recommendations for treatment. If the condition would be better treated by another medical professional, the proper referral will be made. If you are satisfied with the options presented to you, treatment shall commence during this visit.
